Club RANDOMANIA

For Responsible Ecotourism

Reminder of the club's statutes and rules

Preamble

These rules were drawn up by the Board, in application of the statutes of the Club Randomania and were approved by the general assembly on January 26, 2017.
Anyone who joins the club agrees to respect the club rules and to pay the annual membership fee. The purpose of the club is to organise walking and cultural hikes. This document sets out a number of obligations, in particular regarding hygiene, safety and sanctions, that the club's members and guests must respect within the club.

1

Binding force

The club rules are as binding on all members as the club's statutes. No one may avoid them, since they are implicitly accepted when joining. A copy of these rules will be given to each member when they first join.

2

Purpose

The club's aim is the practice of hiking, without any competitive spirit, in a friendly and sporty setting, to discover both the cultural heritage and the natural environment, making it a leisure activity.

3

Membership

To become a member, you must accept the club rules, fill in a membership form and pay the Randomania club membership fee.
Membership is renewable every year. It is valid for 12 months from the date the fee is paid.
The membership fee is the annual amount regardless of the date of joining, this amount being set by the club's board.
Each member must declare themselves fit to hike.

4

Insurance

Until further notice, suitable insurance does not yet exist in Morocco. As a result, the club accepts no liability for any accident or illness suffered by a participant. Nevertheless, individual insurance is strongly recommended to cover your hospital costs in case of an accident (injury, fracture, sprain…).

5

Activity calendar

The Board regularly draws up the calendar of proposed activities and shares it with members whose membership is up to date.
This document is the basis of the club's activity. Only the Board or the hike organiser may make changes to it.
The calendar gives details on:
– The location and possibly the theme of the hike
– The meeting point. People going directly to the start of the hike must inform the trip leader beforehand.
– Any difficulties on the route.
– Any specific gear to bring.

6

Route preparation

Trip routes are prepared by volunteer members. They organise the hike themselves, set the details and make sure it runs smoothly.
Route organisers may swap the date chosen for one outing with that of another. The route may be changed, or the activity or hike cancelled, in case of force majeure (especially weather).

7

Guests

So that people can judge our activities and the atmosphere of our club, anyone who asks may join our hikes as a guest, with no obligation to join the club. Membership remains everyone's free choice, at any time.

8

Transport

Transport is usually by minibus or coach. However, car-sharing (costs shared between the passengers of each car) may be used for short distances to share and limit transport costs.
Anyone who wishes to drive during car-sharing is responsible for the group of hikers in their vehicle.
Passengers must spontaneously give the driver their share of the transport costs (based on a mileage allowance whose value is set each year by the board).
In the same spirit, the occupants of a car must share any additional costs, such as tolls. Accepting car-sharing is the full responsibility of the driver and the passengers with them.

9

Health

Although hiking requires good health, members must inform the president of any health problem arising during the season that could affect their physical condition if they go hiking.
In any case, the member declares that they are in good physical condition and not undergoing any medical treatment that would prevent them from hiking.

10

How the hike runs

On hikes, members must have the required gear: walking shoes, water, protection against rain, cold and sun.…
Hikes are meant to take place in a friendly spirit where performance and competition are to be avoided. You must stick together as a group: the strongest hiker is the one who helps the weakest link.
Participants hiking with Randomania must:
-Respect the safety rules and follow the advice and recommendations of the leaders, organisers and guides.
-Respect the programme, times and group meeting point.
-Make an effort to contribute positively to group life so the trip runs smoothly.
-Respect the cultural and social integrity of host communities, the rhythm of their daily lives, their traditions and customs, their privacy and their work…
-Deal with unforeseen events and inconveniences beyond the organisers' control (food, accommodation, weather…).

11

Withdrawal

Trips in Morocco: 15 days or more before departure, amounts paid are refunded in full. Between 7 and 15 days, a 50% refund applies. Less than 7 days before departure, no refund is possible.
International trips: same principles, with deadlines extended to 30 days (full refund), between 15 and 30 days (50%) and less than 15 days (no refund), given the commitments made with our partners abroad.
In all cases, no penalty applies if the participant is replaced by another person.

12

Respect for the environment

You are asked to respect nature and any properties crossed:
– Don't throw away any paper, take your waste home (bottles, cans, citrus peel that harms vegetation).
– Leave your picnic spot as clean as you would like to find it
– Do not light fires in high-risk areas, especially during dry periods or strong wind

13

Pets

For safety reasons, pets are not allowed on hikes.

14

Website

The club has a website. It contains all information about the club (board members, hike programmes, weather forecasts, photos taken on hikes, …)
This website is managed by one or more board members, with the information published on it validated by the President.

15

Sharing the club rules and statutes

A copy of the statutes and club rules is available to every member on the Randomania website.
Any breach of the club rules or the club's aims during its activities, observed by one of its members, will be reported to the Board (through one of its elected members or by any other means), for a decision faithful to the Randomania spirit on the breach in question.

16

Image rights

Each Randomania member implicitly authorises the club to publish photos and videos of them taken during group outings. Members who do not wish to authorise the club to publish photos and videos of them must state this expressly in writing when signing up.

17

Prohibitions

For safety reasons, pets are not allowed on hikes.

18

Website

It is strictly forbidden:
-To smoke during hikes and in wooded areas; tolerated during the meal break if it does not bother other hikers.
-To bring or consume drugs or alcoholic drinks at any time during the programme.
-To behave irresponsibly in a way that may affect the group's good atmosphere.
-To take photos or videos during evening events. These are taken only by one person appointed by the programme leader.
